PUBLIC INTERVIEWMcKnight Solo: Dancers as DriversIAS Thursdays at Four Series
Panel discussion with the recipients of the 2010 and 2011 McKnight Artist Fellowships for Dancers: Emilie Plauché Flink, Nic Lincoln, Leslie O'Neill, and Amy Behm Thomson. These dancers will be performing solo works created expressly for them as part of SOLO, September 21-22 at Ted Mann Hall, presented by Northrop Dance as the McKnight Artist Fellowships for Dancers. They will discuss the wide variety of creative partnerships between dancer and choreographer and the unusual starting premise of the SOLO project: the dancer selects the choreographer, rather than the other way around.
Interviewed by Mary Ellen Childs, Program Director, McKnight Artist Fellowship for Choreographers and Dancers.
The McKnight Artist Fellowships for Dancers and Choreographers annually awards three fellowships of $25,000 each to Minnesota dancers, and three fellowships of $25,000 each to choreographers. McKnight Artist Fellowships deliver significant financial assistance to mid-career individuals whose work demonstrates artistic excellence. A fellowship can help an artist set aside periods of time for study, reflection, experimentation, and exploration; take advantage of an opportunity; or work on a new project
