Los Angeles-based choreographer Kate Wallich and experimental pop musician Perfume Genius (Mike Hadreas) continue their rich artistic collaboration at Northrop for a creative residency supporting a new evening-length work to premiere in the 2025-26 arts season. Wallich and Hadreas first collaborated in 2019 on their critically acclaimed work The Sun Still Burns Here (presented by Liquid Music and Walker Art Center, Dec 2019), and their continued partnership promises to deepen their distinctive integration of dance and music-making. Following their 10 days together, alongside collaborators Alan Wyffles and Tate Justus, the group will open their collaboration to 2024 Northrop | Liquid Music subscribers, inviting the audience into their world with a work-in-progress showing of their combined exploration.

This mesmerizing evening offers a behind-the-scenes look into the very beginnings of what will become a full-length new work. The rehearsal includes songs and movement, followed by a Q&A period with the artists. Arrive at 6:30 pm for a social hour, with beverages available for purchase.

This new work is commissioned by Seattle Theatre Group and Liquid Music l Northrop.
