So you think you can salsa?!
How many of you go out to La Conga and the Loring Pasta Bar for evening salsa dancing? Well how about you come to the Northrop Plaza on Fri, Jul 9 at 7:00 pm for salsa band Charanga Tropical?! No, that is not a fruity mixed drink - even though their harmonically rich and infectiously rhythmic sound inspires visions of mojitos and Caribbean sunsets. It is actually a FREE concert! And for all those salsa loving dancers, Charanga is a style of popular Cuban dance music of the 1940s, characterized by the use of violins and flutes along with percussion instruments, piano, bass and vocals.
Charanga Tropical is a nine-piece band including musicians from Cuba, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. They know how to fill a dance floor and start a party! And what's a party without food and refreshments? Qdoba will be there dishing out FREE samples! And you can wash it all down with a beverage from our outdoor concession stand!
So you will not only get spicy food, you will also get a variety of son, salsa, cha cha cha, and timba! Come out and join the band that was named "Best of the Cities" by Minnesota Monthly! Let's get saucy!
