Hello Northrop community,
I am so pleased to have this opportunity to participate in Northrop MOVES Online. I’m Jeff Bieganek and I currently serve as chair of the Northrop Advisory Board. It’s great to meet you!
You may be asking, “What is the Northrop Advisory Board (NAB)?” The role of the NAB is to support Northrop’s mission to use the boundless power of the arts and education to ignite transformation in each individual, inspiring positive change in the world. We do that by building, expanding, and strengthening our community relationships to encourage increased support, engagement, and impactful activities that not only allow Northrop to succeed but to expand its vision, audiences, and education programs. We are committed to an open, inclusive and engaged community and are so grateful that you are part of our Northrop family.
I have had a long history with Northrop and the University of Minnesota. I have incredible memories of performances I have seen on its stage, participating in commencement ceremonies and even performing with the University’s Concert Band more than a few years ago! I have often heard people describe Northrop as the heart and center of the University of Minnesota and I truly believe that. Northrop’s history of hosting some of the greatest artists, social, academic, and political leaders is without comparison in the Twin Cities. Especially now after its glorious renovation, it is thrilling to be here and see the wide range of activities taking place on its stage, the lobby, classrooms, and even outside on the Plaza. Although these past six months have been completely different for all of us, Northrop is working diligently to return to its vibrant programming.
And now with the exciting 2020-2021 Northrop Season just announced, we cannot wait to see and experience that energy and creativity with all of you, either online or in person. I hope you have checked out our season schedule and have booked your tickets.
As we manage our way through these incredible times, I do hope you consider supporting Northrop in whatever manner or level you can. I am extremely proud of the incredible team leading Northrop. They have been working hard to respond to these challenges and have put together a remarkable season and plan for reopening. We hope you can support our new season and education programs. You can visit this page to make a contribution and to learn how your support benefits Northrop.
If you would like to learn more about the Northrop Advisory Board or have questions or suggestions about how you would like to engage with Northrop or the Advisory Board, please contact us.
Thank you for your support. I look forward to seeing you online or in-person soon at an upcoming Northrop event. If you see me, please introduce yourself. I would love to hear your own personal Northrop story.
Take care,
Jeff Bieganek
