Northrop Executive Director Nominated for Minnesota Citizens for the Arts Board of Directors
An active champion in local and national arts advocacy work, Northrop Executive Director, Kari Schloner, has been nominated to the Minnesota Citizens for the Arts (MCA) Board of Directors, effective Nov 14. Minnesota Citizens for the Arts is a diverse statewide grassroots arts advocacy organization that organizes the arts community to lobby Minnesota’s State Legislature, Governor, Arts Board and Congressional delegation to ensure opportunity for all Minnesotans to have access to and involvement in the arts.
MCA's Board of Directors is made up of 36 members from every corner of the state. The Board includes one member from each Regional Arts Council area, 10 members from organizations receiving grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the remainder from the population at large.
Prior to being named Director in 2018, Schloner first joined the Northrop team as General Manager in 2016, overseeing business operations. She has held positions in various nonprofit and for-profit organizations as well as in University performing arts venues in the Upper Midwest. Under her leadership, she continues to help expand and oversee vital mission-driven programming. Schloner is committed to building University and community partnerships in the Twin Cities and throughout Minnesota.
Congratulations to Kari Schloner on this honor as she begins her service as a member of the MCA Board.
