Local Arts and Entertainment Forecast

It's almost summertime and the forecast is looking sweet. Along with the
high temperatures, Minneapolis will be experiencing a large front of entertainment, with
immeasurable precipitation of the Arts.
The following is your amusement forecast for the Twin Cities, brought to you by
weather expert and marketing intern Ally.

Attention Minnesotans! There has been a Warning for great amounts of leisure in
the next month.

An advisory
is being sent out to all native residents: Ballet Minnesota will be performing
Sleeping Beauty at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul Sat., May 15, 2:00pm, and
daily from Fri., May 14 until Sat., May 15, at 7:30pm.

We will also be experiencing large gusts of comedy. Formulating at many
local venues, comedians will come and go throughout May, such as Conan O'Brian,
who will be performing at the Orpheum Theatre May 18th at 7:30 p.m.

If you begin to feel a breeze in your jeans due to empty pockets and vacant wallets, do
not fret. There will be no drought
of free events this month. Daily from Sat., April 3rd until Sat., May 22nd,
Franklin Art Works will host its latest FREE show, which is a mix of
photography, drawings, film, and paintings.

The intense climate
change
may have you thirsty. To accommodate, attend Sweeney's Saloon and
Café for "Recovery Happy Hour." Indulge with $2.50 pints of beer and $.50 tacos
daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Not a beer drinker? Bottles of wine are half off
Sunday and Monday.

Also, you are at high risk of encountering a rarely seen and heard instrument, the
Organ. Every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m., The Artists' Quarter has dedicated the
evening to this venerable instrument, with "Downtown" Bill Brown
manning the keys and jazz-scene vets Billy Franze and Kenny Horst sitting in on
guitar and drums.

And please, don't get caught in a haze of stress. Get outdoors to
experience high temperatures at the
Gateway Trial, which begins just north of the state capitol in St. Paul and
ends just north of Stillwater. And while you're there, get hit by the storm of fresh produce at the St. Paul
Farmer's Market.

Oh- this just in... Alice in Wonderland: A Fantasy
will be at the Parkway Theater
Sat., May 22, 2:00pm, Sun., May 23, 7:15pm. Don't miss it!

Well folks, that's all I have for today.
This was intern Ally reporting for
Northrop. Good day!
