It’s All Connected
It really is a small
world after all. We've got all sorts of connections happening between
performances here at Northrop. Jazz vocalist Somi will be singing
this Friday, Oct 22 at 9:00 pm. She shows up again, singing for the evocative Urban Bush Women
(UBW) performance on Sunday, Oct 24 at 7 pm. Also check out Laurie Taylor,
dancer in Urban Bush Women, when she returns with Nicholas
Leichter Dance, here in May.
What does this mean for
you, dear ticket holder? You get more bang for your buck. If you find yourself
falling in love during Somi's one-hour set this Friday, grab a ticket for the
UBW show, and hear her all over again - in a completely new, yet equally
insightful setting for the singer. Zollar:
Uncensored, the UBW performance, is not only a provocative piece of dance
to behold, but it's also a concert of amazing musicians, including our very own
Somi, along with two other guest musicians, vocalist Pyeng Threadgill and
percussionist Beverly Botsford.
Take this as yet another facet of
how Northrop's 10-11 Season is all about connecting relationships. We're connecting
new communities to established audiences, audiences to artists, and now,
artists to artists. Come connect with our art.
