Dancers, Musicians, And Even International Creative Group Part Of This Week’s Daily Inspirations
Get moving with these various resources
This week our Daily Inspirations have featured more ways to move and be moved.
We love the virtual field trips that are being compiled by our friends at Creative Mornings! Upcoming classes include a reading group for James Baldwin’s nonfiction and a family workshop to create imaginary beasts to play with during isolation.
If you’d like more artistic activities for the kids in your life, enjoy American Ballet Theatre’s KidsDaily page. This week’s activities focused on Jerome Robbins’ Ballet Fancy Free, last performed at Northrop by Ballet West in 2015.
We also enjoyed some memories of music from past Northrop concerts. We celebrated the holiday season with the Chenault Duo, who played the most recent Northrop Organ recital in December. Ray and Beth Chenault have an extensive video library on their website. The Head and the Heart, who played Northrop in 2016, have a new album titled The Living Mirage. You can watch the video for the single “Honeybee”.
Finally, we hope you’ll enjoy this dance video titled Storm. Performed by Sara Mearns, it was choreographed by her husband, Joshua Bergasse, who offered a masterclass at Northrop last September that included many dance students from UMN Twin Cities and Duluth. Storm is one of 36 five-minute videos created so far for the Guggenheim’s Works & Process commissioning program. We’re #UMNProud to share this.
Enjoy these links for your weekend, keep it moving, and we’ll see you next week!
