Dance Dance Dance

We Minnesotans are stereotyped as timid and passive aggressive. Dancing is something only seen at weddings or in the sweaty darkness of a night club – we need the encouragement or cover of anonymity.

This summer, I’m daring you to shed off these tired Minnesotan stereotypes, and take the encouragement of DJ Sovietpanda from First Avenue’s über popular dance party, TOO MUCH LOVE. Hear DJ Sovietpanda (aka Peter Lansky) spin his funktastic beats under the glorious summer sun on the Northrop Plaza as part of the Summer Music Festival at Northrop. There are two more shows for y’all to let loose and get a little crazy: Wed, June 29, and Wed, July 13, both noon-1 pm. Free Vitamin Water will be given out on the 29th to refresh your energy and get you back on that dance floor!

This was inspired by a successful model on college campuses across the U.S. that have been hosting noontime dance parties for college students to blow off steam. Any student taking intensive summer courses should appreciate a FREE chance to dance away the stress. After all, a healthy body is a healthy mind, right?
