Rio Nido

Three of Minnesota's most successful Jazz musicians reunite to celebrate the glory days of Rio Nido, a beloved Minnesota native jazz trio that saw its peak of success between 1972 and 1986 before disbanding and going on to successful solo careers. Prudence Johnson, Tom Lieberman, and Tim Sparks are back together to create more jazz classics like their debut LP, I Like to Riff. This trio explores and redefines the vocal jazz form with a distinctive blend of musicality, intellect, and humor. I Like to Riff, and many more of their songs, features reinterpretations of the acrobatic vocal arrangements of such fabled harmonists as The Boswell Sisters, The Cats and the Fiddle, and Lambert, Hendricks and Ross.
