University of Illinois historian and director of the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities Professor Dianne Harris brings her most recent scholarship on the rise of the suburb during the Postwar Years (1945-1960). An interesting complement to the UMN College of Design’s ongoing series “A Right to Establish a Home,” Professor Harris’s talk also addresses the fascinating intersections of race and culture that developed out of these suburban developments.
