PERMIAS Minnesota Indonesian Festival 2014

Indonesian Festival is the biggest annual event hosted PERMIAS Minnesota (also known as Indonesian Student Association). It is a celebration of the Indonesian culture that our members would like to present to the students of the University of Minnesota and community at large by showcasing the different variety of traditional music, play, and dance. Patrons are invited to have this unique cultural experience with authentic Indonesian cuisine also served during the intermission of the festival.

This year, we will be performing a performance inspired by one of Indonesia’s best-selling novel titled Laskar Pelangi (internationally titled as The Rainbow Troops) by Andrea Hirata. The novel has also been created into a movie, which received numerous international awards and recognitions. This is the story of hope, life, spirit, and day in Indonesia.
