Origami Fishtank by Tony Biele

Origami Fishtank is an interactive digital installation utilizing large paper origami shapes that are transformed, through the technique of video mapping with digital projectors, into continually morphing themes and characters. A Kinect camera is pointed outwards, and those spectators within camera range will enter the virtual world, with their 'avatar' appearing in the landscape. From there they can interact directly with the constantly changing digital flora that inhabit the sculptures. Hand painted watercolors, tiny human inhabitants, and schools of virtual creatures come alive through the sculpture in ways that encourage interaction and exploration.
