Coming from the seeds they first planted with the trio George and the Generous Thieves, the members of the newly formed, folky-roots bluegrass group "The May North" bring a mixture of soft folk, twangy bluegrass, and sweet dual male and female harmonies. The group's influences include sounds such as Iron and Wine, Trampled By Turtles, Gillian Welch, David Rawlings, and the water hitting the shores of Lake Superior, to name a few. They continue to travel, to study, to think, and to write music and play new original music together and have also begun recording their debut album here in Minneapolis. Look for up and coming things from this very new group of very seasoned musicians who are out to create and explore their own new roots kind of sound.
