Jason Moran and The Bandwagon

Composer-pianist Jason Moran plays with an unmistakable sense of funk, fluidity and freedom. His arresting, clean attack tempers jazz traditions with an innate grasp of hip-hop, pop, and new production technologies. Moran's acclaimed trio The Bandwagon — with Nasheet Waits (drums) and Tarus Mateen (bass) — is joined by Marvin Sewell (guitar) and Alicia Hall (voice) in a new theatrical jazz suite celebrating works in the Walker's permanent collection including Adrian Piper's Mythic Beings and pieces by Louise Nevelson, Alice Neel, Ellsworth Kelly, and Robert Motherwell.
