The JaMN Reggae Concert is part of the Minnesota International Sports and Reggae Festival put together by Organization for Strategic Development in Jamaica (OSDJ), a Minnesota based non-profit. A portion of the proceeds will support an expansion and improvement of existing facilities at Bustamante Children's Hospital in Jamaica. OSDJ aims to deepen the relationship between Minnesota and Jamaica for trade, tourism, academic, cultural exchange and government relations.
Third World, The Reggae Ambassadors, is one of the longest-lasting Reggae bands of all time, and one of Jamaica’s most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences. Mixing in elements of R&B, funk, pop and rock and, later on, dancehall and rap, Third World’s style has been described as “reggae-fusion.” With 10 Grammy nominations and smash hits including Now That We Found Love, 96 Degrees in the Shade, and Try Jah Love, Third World is an institution whose themes are positive, progressive and internationally relevant.
International Reggae All-Stars is the Midwest's premier Reggae band for over 20 years with band members hailing from Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, Liberia, St. Croix USVI and Kingston, Jamaica. The International Reggae All-Stars are truly a global band. Featuring one of today’s hottest reggae vocalists, Kingston native Lynval “Golden Voice” Jackson, the band plays Lover's Rock, Dancehall and Bob Marley classics. The members bring peace, love, and positive vibrations with them where ever they go.
