Film Screening: No Maps on My Taps

Filmed at a time when tap dance’s survival was in question, No Maps on My Taps offers brilliant insight into this indigenous American art form. The remarkable spirit of tap dancers and their history provides a joyous backdrop for intimate portraits of hoofers Sandman Sims, Chuck Green, and Bunny Briggs, who represented very different aesthetics but shared solidarity of spirit. In this film, they tell the story of tap as an expression of black heritage and culture.
