Eighth Annual Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Awards

The Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Awards honor
individuals, organizations, or projects that contribute to the common good
through public leadership and service.

The event benefits the Humphrey Public Leaders Fellowship,
which provides scholarship funds for future public leaders.

This year's recipients are:

Frank Fahrenkopf, Jr., and Paul Kirk, Jr.Co-chairmen of the Commission on Presidential Debates during the 2008 presidential election

David B. Laird, Jr.Higher education leader and public champion for access for under-represented students

John M. HarringtonSt. Paul's 39th Chief of Police

Barbara Sigford, M.D.Pioneer in developing protocols for the treatment of veterans with polytrauma

This year we spotlight alumnaBarbara Sporlein (MP, '90)Planning director for the City of Minneapolis for her leadership in community and economic development

and recognizeMinnesota Organization on Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Parentingfor promoting leadership opportunities for young women

This year's Hubert H. Humphrey Public Leadership Awards dinner is presented by Best Buy.

6 p.m. - Reception 7 p.m. - Dinner and Program
