Alternative rock group Dashboard Confessional hails from Boca Raton, Fla., and is led by singer/songwriter Christopher Carrabba.
Fresh from Dashboard Confessional’s eight-day support tour for U2, Carrabba will perform a solo acoustic show. This performance will be Carrabba’s first return to the Twin Cities since June 2003. Marking his first solo effort with the release of “The Swiss Army Romance,” Carrabba has since released “The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most” and “A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar.” Working on his follow-up to “A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar,” Carrabba scrapped an entire record’s worth of tracks and teamed up with producer Daniel Lanios (U2 and Bob Dylan). According to Rolling Stone’s Jenny Eliscu, “the new songs, such as the U2-ish ‘Heaven Here,’ rely less on anthemic guitar riffs than they do on heady sonic textures -- and ought to help Dashboard shake off the emo tag once and for all.” The record is due out early next year.
The show is made possible by the generous collaboration of City Pages and Drive 105.
