2021-22 Northrop Season

We are delighted to welcome you back this fall with our 2021-22 Season! This return to in-person events (while still offering some livestream and on-demand options) includes newly commissioned works, co-presentations with our partners in the Twin Cities arts community, and multiple premieres of pieces never seen before in this region.

The season includes nine renowned companies in the Dance Series, the Music Series with three organ concerts, and a Film Series centered around dance. While in-person performances make a strong return, many events are also offered as a livestream or on-demand option. Many artist engagement activities will also be offered including special classes, Q&A sessions, and more—join the Northrop Email Club to learn about new events that will be added throughout the year.

Dance Theatre of Harlem

2021-22 Northrop Dance Series

Northrop’s 2021-22 Dance Series offers a mix of returning companies, stage debuts, a classical ballet, and Northrop Centennial Commission works all in-person at the Carlson Family Stage or with our presenting partners at The Cowles Center.

Gallim "Boat"

2021-22 Northrop Film Series

Northrop’s 2021-22 Film Series features five events that put dance in the center of these cinematic creations. Select your own price ($0-$50) to screen films online—the ticket revenue will be shared with the artists. All screenings are available on-demand with extended viewing dates for your flexibility.

Northrop's Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ

2021-22 Northrop Music Series

Northrop's Music Series features three extraordinary concerts performed on Northrop’s own historic Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ. The series features debuts by two high-profile legends on the instrument, and a returning favorite with a new Holiday program.
