The Velveteen Rabbit

Performed by ODC/DanceThe whole family will marvel as Margery Williams’ classic tale of a well-worn stuffed rabbit is brought to life through music, dance, and narration. San Francisco’s ODC/Dance, one of America’s most exciting and acclaimed contemporary dance companies, has created a family treat that has captivated Bay Area audiences for 30 years. Now, this evergreen classic—brimming with wit, festive costumes, and endearingly madcap characters—comes to delight Northrop audiences for the first time. Don’t miss this endearing tale of a young boy, his favorite toy, and the abiding power of love.

As a complement to The Velveteen Rabbit performance, two therapy rabbits, Lorenzo and Nimoy, from the Center for Spirituality and Healing will be on site starting at 12:40 pm in Room 106. Children and adults are invited to visit the therapy rabbits to learn about the healing power of interacting with animals. Visitors will be able to observe the rabbits munching on their hay, feel their fur, discover information about local rescue rabbits and ask questions about the program.
