Set in Vienna at the beginning of the 20th century, Undiscovered Country is a provocative and, at times, comedic glance into the tangled lives of a group of Viennese socialites. When a terrible secret is revealed, the precarious marriage of Friedrich and Genia Hofreiter must walk a fine line between fidelity and temptation, duty and passion, normalcy and scandal. Critically-acclaimed playwright Tom Stoppard's wit and wordplay enliven a complex web of human relationships set against the backdrop of repressive societal norms. Under the direction of renowned Twin Cities director John Miller-Stephany, Undiscovered Country is presented by the Guthrie Theater/ University of Minnesota BFA Actor Training Program's senior class.
