"dance of the soul...a magnificent epic of the human spirit." – Asahi
A multimedia stagecraft based on the spirit to see the present from the eye of the future, MIROKU was originally created at the New National Theatre Tokyo by one of the world's leading contemporary figures, Saburo Teshigawara. This solo work bursts with visual beauty, rigor and clarity. Teshigawara contorts his body, plunging in a poetic flow of movement. Performed in a luminously lit box, his silhouette reveals body transformations that will make this experience unforgettable. With an unparalleled use of lighting, media, and stage effects, this will not only be one of the greatest dance events of the season, but also one of the richest visual arts events in the Twin Cities. Teshigawara's acute sculptural sensibilities, powerful sense of composition, command of space, and unforgettable movement creates a world all his own.
